Spoilt..
My thoughts on Dylan's sleeping habits during the night:
Waking every 2 hours, I said "yikes, i forgot babies wake every two hours to eat".
Waking every 4 hours, I said "much better, but can u sleep longer?"
Waking every 6 hours, I said "ahh, much better, but can u sleep for 8 hours?"
Waking every 8 hours, I said "wow, my baby is sleeping thru the night"
Waking every 12 hours (this happened twice so far), I said "wow, 13 hours can ah?"
Am I spoilt or what?
Nowadays, he can sleep 4-6-8 hours, depending on his mood.
And you know.. the only reason he doesn't sleep through the night, is because I don't feed him enough in the day and I let him sleep too much in the day.
I am such a spoilt and demanding mother!

All is quiet...
It's Saturday night and Gordon is out watching a basketball game with Ken.
Both kids are asleep and it is only 8.15pm..:) woo-hooo!
I truly have such great kids. Dylan loves to sleep and Ryan is so sweet.
While feeding Ryan dinner, we were disturbed several times with Dylan waking up and crying. Ryan waited patiently as I went over to comfort Dylan. When I was putting Ryan to sleep at 8pm, Dylan woke again and I told Ryan to wait while I checked out Dylan, and again, Ryan waited patiently.
I would think Ryan would throw a fuss since it was sleeping time, but he did not. Such a good boy.:)
In other news.... Dylan has not pooped in SEVEN days... and last night, he slept from 9pm to 6.30am. He did wake up several times due to gas in his tummy and searching for his pacifier.. but he did not ask to eat.. so I did not feed...
We have to see about tonight... yesterday, MIL was taking care of Dylan and he refused to sleep. Maybe that's why he slept so well last night..hehehehehe..

Dylan 2 month old growth numbers
Weight : 13 lb 7 oz (84%)
Height : 24" (83%)
Head : 15.75" (47%)
He is growing well and got a clean bill of health.
In other news, Dylan can wait 6 hours before he feeds at night... woo hoo! but but, he wakes up around the 4th hour, doesn't want to eat but wakes up cos his tummy is hurting from gas.... yuck! He also waited 4 days before he poo-ed. double yuck! Good thing my mom is around and she does all the poopy diapers..;)

A,B,C's and NO to going home!
Here is a video of Ryan singing his ABC's....
Thanks to you tube, he knows a bunch of songs including incy wincy, old macdonald, twinkle twinkle, baa baa black sheep and his FAVOURITE happy birthday song.
Ryan does have a HARD time with several words. Instead of saying "papaya", he says "pa-ya-ya". We have been trying to correct him, but it's hard!
He also cannot say the word "birthday" when he sings the song.. he says "day".
Ryan's "I-love-you" sounds like "aiy-ruv-u"
And when we ask him to "Say Thank you", he says "welcome", instead of saying thank you!
Kids can be super funny!
Ryan also knows the way home; when we drive up the hill to head home, he says "no-no-no, go down" and starts crying cos he doesn't want to go home!!!
My mom says we need to start driving home using different routes, so he doesn't know when we are heading home.

2 months old
3pm - 4 oz milk
6.30pm - 4 oz milk
We celebrated his full moon (red egg and ginger party) at South Sea Seafood restaurant in SF last Sunday. It was fun to just eat with a bunch of frens and family. We had a total of 7 tables and everyone had loads of leftovers to take home.:)

A phase or true brotherly love?
Ryan has been super sweet with Dylan. We are wondering if this is a phase he is going thru, or he really knows how to love his little brother...
1. When Ryan hears Dylan crying upstairs, he looks upstairs, says "baby" (informing us baby is crying) and heads upstairs to see his baby brother...
2. If baby is in his car seat or bouncer and cries, Ryan will rock the baby..
3. In the car, if baby cries, Ryan would close the car seat cover (i think he thinks the baby will stop crying)
4. Sitting in the car, Ryan would hold Dylan's hand...
5. If the pacifier drops out of Dylan's mouth, Ryan will try and put it back into Dylan's mouth.
6. Randomly, Ryan will give baby kisses and stroke his hair (without us asking/telling him to do it!)
7. Ryan will ask to "poh poh" (carry) Dylan...
8. During Dylan's bathtime, Ryan would bring the soap and cloth for grandma.
We are truely amazed by his actions. So, is this a phase, or true brotherly love? We hope it is the latter.
Ryan has tried to get our attention too when we are with Dylan. He will ask for a blanket (like Dylan's) and ask for milk, when he sees us feeding Dylan with the bottle. We still see minimal jealousy. He is really such a sweet boy!

Happy 21 month old bday...
I love my toothbrush. If I hear daddy or mummy brushing their teeth, I would go to them and ask them for my toothbrush. I will chew on my toothbrush and mummy has to brush my teeth for me.

Trip to California Academy of Sciences
Pic above : Ryan super happy to be out!
Our first and most interesting stop, was the Aquarium. It is similar to Monterey Bay aquarium, but in a smaller scale. They have sea creatures that kids can touch as well.
Ryan seemed to like the aquarium, He got scared of the big fish, and when he was done looking, he said "all done", which meant we could move on to something else..:) See the big fish below?
After looking at some other random stuff, we headed to the kids play area. It was a nice area with pots and pans and other stuff for the kids to play. My mom ventured off on her own to see the planetarium show.
At the play area, Ryan was rough with the other kids. Whenever a kid come near him to play with the toys, he pushed them away......... oh oh. I think he picked this up from the babysitter..... The video below shows how he pushed the kid away... I was busy video-ing, and could not stop him in time...:P

I am 5 weeks old!!
I am so happy to be out of mummy's tummy. It is definitely more fun out here than inside there.
I spend most of my time sleeping. I sleep so much that mummy says there is no time for her to play with me. Don't worry mummy, soon, I will be awake all the time that you will wish I sleep more..;)
At 4 weeks, I can move my head left and right and can follow mummy's hands when she moves it above my head. I can also lift up my neck to see more things.
I love my big brother. He is so loving and gives me kisses all the time. Sometimes, he hears me cry and comes to see me even before mummy or daddy gets to me.
I sleep super well when someone is carrying me. Good news is that my grandma is in town and she loves to carry me!

Missing camera...
I can't seem to find my camera. Have loads of pictures in there.... just need to find it..:P
Lately, Ryan has been BUSY with his playdoh set. I hide the box when we are done playing with it, and somehow, he finds it and makes us open the box and play with it.
I am really not a playdoh fan. but... so far, it has kept him busy so I guess I could force myself to play with it. I refuse to let him play with more than ONE color at a time..;)
Dylan has been busy sleeping and pee-ing on my bed when I change his diaper. This boy has super great timing when he pees. I have been pee-ed on SO many times, that I cannot even keep count. grrrrr.
Let's hope I find my camera soon... I have so many pictures to take and so many to download....

Video of Dylan on Day 11:
the gas thingy is definitely better than Ryan, but he still has gas and needs to let it out. He also grunts a lot which is super cute.... he grunts the most when I am trying to burp him and he takes ages to burp.... his eating is quick, he can be done in 15 minutes....
We are getting loads of smiles from him. He sure knows how to melt our hearts with his smiles..:)

Big Brother Ryan
I am sure everyone wants to know how Ryan is doing since Dylan entered the world..:)
Ryan is doing GREAT! He knows that the baby is not in my tummy anymore and he is excited to see baby. He has been giving Dylan many kisses and trying to touch his hands, legs, hair, etc.
In the morning, when he wakes up, he says "baby" and goes towards the crib to see Dylan.
It is super cute! He has yet to show any signs of jealousy and regression towards anything.. so we are happy.

Home Sweet Home
We had to stay five days in the hospital due to Dylan's jaundice (Ryan had to stay four days).
Since my hospital stay had to be extended, the hospital put me on "border" status, which means, I am officially checked out, but still have a room so I can stay over and feed baby. I had my own room for the first 3 nights and was moved to a double room. My roommate had a baby at 38 months, but her baby was only 4 pounds and had to go into the ICU.:(
It was nice to get home on Day 5. Dylan is loving his crib and the nice warm weather.
Today is Dylan's Day 7. We went back to the hospital yesterday to take another blood test and his biribulin was up again! So, we have to go back on Sunday to take one more test just to make sure. Dylan is now sun-bathing in his crib, to help with the jaundice.
Above is a pic of Gordon and Ryan when they came over to visit me at the hospital. They took over the bed for an afternoon nap... z z z z
